Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy is a relational and experiential form of psychotherapy that supports greater awareness, self-acceptance, and change. Rooted in the here and now, it explores how past experiences may shape current patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour—particularly in how we relate to ourselves and others. A key focus is on bodily awareness, emotional expression, and uncovering what might be unfinished or unresolved in our experience.

  • Why Gestalt

Gestalt therapy speaks to something deeply human and elemental in me. It honours the body as a source of wisdom, a living, breathing well of information. Through this work, I’ve come to see how the body carries our history, our wounds, our resilience, and our longing to connect. I’m continually learning how to listen more deeply to its subtle signals for health, for healing, for connection, and for the fuller expression of our true nature.

My love for Gestalt is also rooted in its deep respect for the present moment and its potential for transformation. It doesn’t seek to pathologise or fix, but to meet what’s here with curiosity, compassion, and clarity. In this way, it aligns with the principles of deep ecology, which recognise that we are not separate from nature but intrinsically part of it. Just as ecosystems thrive through balance, interdependence, and flow, so too do we. Gestalt helps us to remember that, to return to ourselves as part of a larger, living whole.

  • About My Approach

As a trainee Gestalt psychotherapist working towards UKCP accreditation, I offer weekly sessions for individuals seeking a body-oriented approach to psychotherapy. These sessions provide an affordable opportunity to engage in meaningful therapeutic work, aligned with my current level of training and under professional supervision.

Our work together would begin with a contract for an agreed number of sessions, focusing on present-moment experience while exploring how past experiences may still influence your life today. Rather than offering interpretations, I aim to bring compassionate attention to what’s emerging in the moment—supporting you in discovering your truest self and identifying what might be getting in the way of living more fully.

I adhere to the UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct, hold professional liability insurance, and all sessions are conducted in strict confidence. My work is regularly supervised by an experienced, accredited Gestalt supervisor. My learning and development is supported by The Gestalt Centre Wales
