About Sarah Jane Heath

At the heart of my work is compassion, the courage to come together and sit with our shared suffering, struggles, and the full depth of what it means to be human. From this place, real change becomes possible.

For a while now I have been studying and practising ways to live more fully, finding creativity, nature connection, and spirituality to be essential threads running through both my life and my work. I sing regularly with vocal improvising communities, dance with movement and Five Rhythms groups and work with asylum seekers and refugees in Gloucester. I also have a deep interest in the relationship between horses and humans, a connection since childhood that speaks to something instinctive and profound about how we relate, communicate, and heal. These experiences continuously enrich my practice and deepen my understanding of what it means to be human.

My professional background is rooted in social work (including a Master's degree and 20 years post qualifying experience) and therapeutic skills training and practice. I am a Gestalt psychotherapist in training, working towards UKCP registration, and a trained holistic massage therapist, work that grounds my understanding of the body as a source of insight and healing.

How I work

I offer a space where you’re invited to explore what it means to be more fully yourself. My work is held within clear ethical boundaries, supported by regular supervision and professional standards.

I value the opportunity to work across cultures, honouring the wisdom that comes from lived experience and the profound connections between culture, community, and place. My practice is enhanced by my ongoing work as part of a psychotherapy team working with asylum seekers and refugees in Gloucester and my commitment to trauma recovery and social justice. Supporting people who have experienced displacement, persecution, and trauma continues to teach me about the strength of the human spirit, the importance of relational safety, and the healing power of presence and deep listening.

“Changes happen not from the attempt to force change, but to engage fully with the present being.”

Arnold R. Beisser
