About Sarah Jane Heath
I’m deeply committed to supporting people in finding a sense of contentment, greater balance, and resilience in their everyday lives. With over 25 years of experience in community and wellbeing services, I use therapeutic approaches to promote emotional health and community engagement. I’ve worked alongside many individuals as they move through times of crisis, adapt to change, and rebuild stronger, healthier relationships. I’m especially interested in exploring how each person’s creative gifts emerge and take shape within community life. I appreciate the opportunities I have to work across cultures, honouring the wisdom that comes from lived experience and the connections between culture, community, and the land.
I am a Gestalt psychotherapist (working towards UKCP accreditation), with a background in social work and therapeutic skills training.
I’m also trained as a holistic massage therapist, underpinning my connection to the body as a source of insight and healing.
Alongside my Gestalt psychotherapy clients, I hold a small holistic massage practice.
I sing regularly with the vocal improvising communities, dance with movement and five rhythms communities and work with asylum seekers and refugees in Gloucester.
Creativity, nature connection, and spirituality inform how I live and work.
I discovered Gestalt psychotherapy over 20 years ago as a client, and its principles of awareness, embodied presence, field theory and relational depth have shaped my life and work ever since. My approach is grounded in deep listening, paying attention to what is present now through breath, movement, voice, and silence. I have recently returned to complete an advanced qualification in Gestalt Psychotherapy and am working towards accreditation with the UKCP.
How I work
I offer a space where you’re invited to explore what it means to be more fully yourself. My work is held within clear ethical boundaries, supported by regular supervision and professional standards.
My practice is enhanced by my ongoing work with asylum seekers and refugees in Gloucester and my commitment to trauma recovery and social justice. Supporting people who have experienced displacement, persecution, and trauma continues to teach me about the strength of the human spirit, the importance of relational safety, and the healing power of presence and deep listening.
“Changes happen not from the attempt to force change, but to engage fully with the present being.”
Arnold R. Beisser
What I offer….
Is a heart-based, body oriented, and trauma aware invitation to cultivate your own capacity for deeper listening.
In addition to psychotherapy, I also offer a small number of massage therapy sessions—grounded in deep listening and attunement to the body’s natural rhythms.
